Owned by Greg and Lisa Carter for the last four years, Artisan Express has relocated to flash new premises at 545 Main Street, Glendale. Together with Annette and Libby, they continue the 30 year tradition of providing quality art materials and custom picture framing to the residents of Newcastle.
The store was previously located at Garden City, Kotara for many years but with the recent expansion of the business a new location was required to better serve customers. The new store has a great street presence with easy free parking at the rear and stocks a comprehensive range of quality art materials featuring Maimeri, CretaColor and Fabriano products.
Art North Gallery
Paul and Mandy Cooper have owned this picture framing, gallery and art supply business for the past 2 years. It was previously situated on the Pacific Highway in Gordon and this year they moved to a new location in the Gordon Village Arcade. Art supplies were an ancilliary product to their painting sales and picture framing. Since relocating to the arcade, art supply sales have seen a tremendous growth. This growth has been achieved by expanding the product range which is increasing constantly. They are currently stockists of Maimeri Blu watercolours and Classico oils, Atelier, A2 and Chromacryl acrylics, Cretacolour , Derwent , Fredrix, Fabriano, Artec, Archival and a large range of brushes. If they do not already carry the product you are after, they will be more than happy to order it in for you. Mandy is an artist, and is very knowledgeable with art materials , with some of her works on display in the gallery.
Beach Art - Thirroul
Beach Art is owned by Anthony and Rose, who have been owners for 8 years though the shop has been an established business for 18 years.
Anthony, an ex local school teacher, and his wife Rose are both from the local area and focus on supplying art materials, with a gallery at the front of the shop to display the works of local artists as well as providing a picture framing service.
Anthony and Rose of Beach Art are always supporting local art and are involved in the Thirroul Seaside and Arts Festival, and in particular the Artists' Trail section which showcases the vibrant talent that abounds in Northern Illawarra. The Trail gives people the opportunity to see the different kinds of artist shops, displays of artwork and also the chance to meet the artists in the area. Our Sales Representative, Leona, says Beach Art is a beautiful shop to walk into and the friendly staff make every trip there more enjoyable than the last.
